Simple version: PCO Songbook connects to your Planning Center account to download songbooks. Everything is stored on your device. We don't collect, store, or share your personal data. Your annotations and downloaded content never leave your iPad.
What This App Does
PCO Songbook is an iOS app that helps worship musicians view chord charts and sheet music from Planning Center Services. The app downloads content from your Planning Center account and stores it on your device for offline use.
Information We Access
From Planning Center
When you connect your Planning Center account, we access:
- Service Plans: Your service types, plans, and their items
- Attachments: PDF chord charts, lead sheets, and sheet music
- Song Data: Song arrangements, keys, and ChordPro chord charts
- Basic Profile: Your name (for display in the app)
This data is accessed using Planning Center's official OAuth2 API. Your Planning Center password is never stored or seen by our app.
What We Don't Access
- Other Planning Center products (People, Check-ins, Giving, etc.)
- Your email address or phone number
- Other users' information
- Financial data
- Any data you haven't explicitly granted access to
How We Store Your Data
On Your Device Only
All app data is stored locally on your iPad:
- Downloaded PDFs: Stored in the app's Documents directory
- Annotations: Saved as local files, never uploaded anywhere
- Settings: Stored in iOS UserDefaults
- Authentication Token: Securely stored in iOS Keychain
We Don't Have Servers
PCO Songbook does not operate any servers. We don't:
- Store your data on our servers
- Create accounts or databases
- Upload your annotations or notes
- Track your usage
- Collect analytics
Data Sharing
We don't share your data with anyone. Period.
The only data transmission happens between:
- Your device ↔ Planning Center: To download service plans and attachments
No third-party analytics, advertising networks, or data brokers are involved.
Planning Center's Privacy
Your Planning Center data is governed by Planning Center's privacy policy. We recommend reviewing it at planningcenter.com/privacy.
When you authorize PCO Songbook, you're granting us permission to access your Planning Center data on your behalf. You can revoke this access anytime in your Planning Center account settings.
What We Can See
Because everything is stored on your device, we cannot see:
- What plans you download
- How often you use the app
- What annotations you make
- Which pages you view
- When you use the app
We have no visibility into your usage whatsoever.
Crash Reports (Optional)
If you opt in to sending crash reports through iOS Settings:
- Apple may send us anonymous crash logs to help improve the app
- These reports don't contain personal information
- They help us fix bugs and improve stability
- You can disable this in iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics
Children's Privacy
PCO Songbook is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian discovers their child is using the app without permission, please contact us.
Data Security
We take security seriously:
- OAuth2: Industry-standard authentication via Planning Center
- iOS Keychain: Authentication tokens stored in Apple's secure Keychain
- HTTPS: All communication with Planning Center is encrypted
- Local Storage: Data protected by your device's iOS security
Your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) protects all app data.
Your Rights
Access Your Data
All your data is on your device. You can access it anytime through the app or iOS Files app.
Delete Your Data
You can delete all app data by:
- Deleting individual songbooks in the Library tab
- Clearing all songbooks in Settings
- Signing out (removes authentication)
- Deleting the app (removes everything)
Revoke Access
Revoke PCO Songbook's access to your Planning Center account:
- Log in to Planning Center
- Go to Account Settings → Authorized Applications
- Remove "PCO Songbook"
The app will stop working until you re-authorize it.
Data Backup
If you back up your iPad to iCloud or iTunes:
- Your downloaded songbooks and annotations are backed up
- This is handled by iOS, not by us
- Restore from backup to recover your data
- Disable app backup in iOS Settings if desired
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy:
- We'll update the "Last updated" date above
- Major changes will be announced in-app
- Continued use means acceptance of changes
Third-Party Services
PCO Songbook integrates with:
- Planning Center Services: For downloading service plans (Privacy Policy)
No other third-party services are used.
International Users
PCO Songbook can be used worldwide. Your data stays on your device regardless of your location. Planning Center's servers may be located in the United States, subject to their privacy policy.
